JPCFM prioritizes quality and impact as key criteria for publication. Submissions must present work that has a significant impact on the advancement of scientific knowledge. Experimental studies should provide results that directly inform or validate theoretical models, while theoretical advances or innovative computational methods should provide tangible insights or applications for experimental research. Manuscripts that merely extend existing work modestly or incrementally are not considered suitable for publication. Instead, the journal seeks submissions that present unique and comprehensive data, address critical gaps in the respective fields, and push the boundaries of current understanding.

The Journal of Physical Chemistry and Functional Materials is an international, peer-reviewed journal that publishes cutting-edge research in a wide range of areas. These include analytical methods, astrochemistry, biochemistry, composite materials, computational methods, energy production, gas phase reactions, green chemistry, kinetics and dynamics, materials science, mathematical physics, medical physics, molecular structure, nanoscience, nanostructures, natural sciences, nuclear structure and modeling, optical materials, optoelectronic applications, optoelectronic materials, organic semiconductors, polymer science, quantum chemistry, spectroscopy, structural materials, surface and interface studies, surface chemistry, thermodynamics, and theoretical advances. The journal is published twice a year, in June and December.
