Info of Journal | MetaMind is a peer-reviewed, international academic journal published twice a year (in June and December). The journal accepts papers both in Turkish and English and primarily publishes “research” and “review” articles in the fields of artificial intelligence and philosophy of mind. The journal also publishes “article translations” (into Turkish), “interviews” and “book reviews” in those fields. In some cases, it also accepts qualified research articles from other fields of philosophy.
MetaMind is the first international peer-reviewed philosophy journal published in Turkey in the fields of artificial intelligence and philosophy of mind. All papers submitted to MetaMind are subjected to a “double blind review” system and undergo equal evaluation processes. MetaMind aims to contribute to the development of the fields of artificial intelligence and philosophy of mind in Turkey, to ensure the production of original studies in these increasingly important fields, to contribute to the translation of international literature produced in these two fields into Turkish, to prepare a theoretical basis for the philosophical and scientific analysis of concepts such as mind, consciousness, self-consciousness, intelligence and awareness, which are inseparable elements of human existence, and to provide resources and literature to researchers and academics working in these fields. |

Aim and Scope | The integration of thousands of years of philosophical knowledge and scientific knowledge, which is constantly evolving and taking on a new format, has become a necessity for us to understand the nature of human beings and the universe in a holistic way in the age we live in. The phenomena at the center of ancient philosophical knowledge, such as the human being and the mind, consciousness, intelligence and awareness that constitute the human being, continue to play a critical role today as they did in the past. However, the concepts corresponding to these phenomena are used with different meanings in different fields of discussion today, and this prevents the formation of a common mental paradigm. This reveals the necessity of regulating the current conceptual confusion and achieving a consensus of meaning.
It has become a necessity to establish a consensus between the concepts produced in the fields of artificial intelligence and philosophy of mind in English and the concepts produced in the Turkish literature. Considering the fact that these two fields are newly recognized fields in Turkey and that the amount of thought and knowledge produced in these fields, especially in English, is large, it is obvious that conceptual bridges need to be built between the thought and knowledge produced in both languages. It is obvious that the same epistemic transitivity should also be established between Turkish and other foreign languages. |
