| Info of Journal | The field of family therapy, which began in the 1950s in clinical settings with a focus on patient-family-doctor interaction and treatment, shifted towards family psychological counselling in the 1980s, taking on preventive and developmental functions as well. In our country, the increasing need for family psychological counselling felt by society since the 2000s and the growing efforts of our colleagues in this sub-specialty have motivated us to publish this journal. The focus of our journal is on all topics related to the ‘family system,’ particularly close relationships, premarital counselling, marital harmony and satisfaction, therapeutic interventions in family counselling, counselling families with different structures (single-parent, step-parent, adoptive, disabled, etc.), intervention in developmental and sudden crises in the family, the impact of divorce on family members, divorce process counselling, therapeutic mediation during the divorce process, family and child law, and parent-child and adolescent relationships. We plan to publish our journal twice a year and are working to make it international in nature and to ensure that international scientists contribute to the editorial board. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Aim and Scope | The emergence of sub-specialisations (school, career, family) within the field of Psychological Counselling and Guidance (PDR) and the increasing work of our colleagues in these sub-specialisations have led to the Turkish Psychological Counselling and Guidance Association’s decision to publish three new journals. The JOURNAL OF FAMILY PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELLING aims to publish topics related to the family system and contribute to the professional development processes of family counsellors working in the field.
The focus of our journal is on all topics related to the ‘family system,’ with a particular emphasis on close relationships, premarital counselling, marital harmony and satisfaction, therapeutic interventions in family counselling, counselling families with different structures (single-parent, step-parent, adopted, disabled, etc.), intervention in developmental and sudden crises within the family, the impact of divorce on family members, divorce process counselling, therapeutic mediation during the divorce process, and parent-child and adolescent relationships. |
