Info of Journal | The Black Sea Research Journal began publication in 2004 under the umbrella of KaraM Research and Publishing and is an international, peer-reviewed, academic periodical. Four issues are published each year: Winter/December, Spring/March, Summer/June, and Autumn/September. No special issues are published outside of these four issues. The Black Sea Research Journal is an e-journal with an e-ISSN of 2536-5126. The Black Sea Studies Journal is Turkey’s first region-focused journal. As indicated in its subtitle, it publishes articles related to the social sciences (history, language, literature, international relations, economics, ethnography, ethnology, anthropology, etc.), with a focus on Eastern Europe, the Balkans, the Caucasus, and Anatolia. By the end of 2022, the Black Sea Studies Journal had published 75 issues in 19 volumes, contributing to the literature with nearly 1,000 academic articles since its inception and making significant contributions to fields such as history, sociology, language, literature, and international relations. |
Aim and Scope | The main objective of the Black Sea Studies Journal is to encourage academic studies on topics such as changing balances and developments in the world and their effects on the Turkic world, Turkey-Turkic world relations, the historical, social, and geopolitical importance of the region, Turkish history, historical and contemporary Turkish language, languages spoken in the Black Sea basin and their interaction with Turkish, The main objective of the Black Sea Studies Journal is to encourage academic studies on topics such as alphabet, language, culture, etc., by publishing them, and in this way, to bring together the relevant scientific community in a publication pool. As the Black Sea Studies Journal, which focuses its publications on the Black Sea world, our publication philosophy is to contribute to our country’s strategies, primarily to the accumulation of knowledge in this field.
As the Black Sea Studies Journal, we will continue to publish studies that address the region from a wide range of perspectives, rather than merely following current events, which is the shallowest level of strategic knowledge accumulation. |
